This presentation traces the diversification of student support services to increase access for historically disadvantaged groups at principally white institutions (PWI’s) of higher learning & provides context to de-stigmatize help-seeking behaviors.
Gary Allison is the Program Specialist for Supplemental Instruction & Learning Strategies; CAPS/UNM. He holds a MA in Language Literacy & Sociocultural Studies from the College of Education at UNM. His research area focused on the co-opting of desegregation policies
