"The House I Live In"
February 2, 2015
The UNM Public Health Student Association, along with other sponsors, on February 2nd at 5:30 pm, is hosting the award–winning film "The House I Live In," which examines racial injustice perpetuated by U.S. policies, in particular the War on Drugs. See the official flyer.
Immediately prior to the film, Professor Alfred Mathewson, Professor of Law and Africana Studies, will give a short talk providing local context for these issues.
We will also briefly hear from Rosie Garibaldi from the NM Youth Alliance on the state legislative memorial on Institutional Racism which provides an opportunity for concerned parties to take action on these issues.
The film will be followed by a question and answer session moderated by Dr. Jamal Martin, Africana Studies and Family and Community Medicine.
Please join us for a critical and timely examination of these issues.
Light refreshments will be served.
