Africana Studies faculty serve on Women Studies Panel

On November 15, 2012, Africana Studies faculty served on a panel discussion hosted by the Womens Studies Program to culminate their 40th Anniversary Celebration. Dr. Nancy Lopez, Associate Professor in the Sociology Department, and Prof. Sonia Gipson Rankin, Africana Studies Lecturer, and the Associate Dean of University College joined Dr. Beverly Singer of Anthropology, Prof. Antoinette Sedillo Lopez of the School of Law, and Dr. Margaret Werner-Washburne of Biology in discussing issues of recruitment, retention, tenure, and the promotion fo women of color in academia. The panel was moderated by Women Studies Program Director, Dr. Barbara Reyes.
