Prof. Alfred Mathewson keynote speaker for NAACP Event in Alamogordo

Each year the Otero County NAACP has a banquet to raise money for local scholarships and highlight the educator of the year. The NAACP Educator of the Year Banquet and the 2012 Annual Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce banquets both took place Saturday evening, April 14, 2012 at the Hamilton-Flickinger Conference Center at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo, New Mexico. The keynote speaker for this year's event was Africana Studies Acting Director Prof. Alfred Mathewson. Professor Alfred Mathewson spoke to attendees about the importance of the teacher in our lives.
