Africana Studies is proud to present our first student chartered organization: Africana Leadership Opportunity Team (ALOT). ALOT focuses on three core strengths to achieving academic excellence: leadership development, building unity, and dissemination of information. The organization is dedicated to the contemporary imperative of integrating multicultural education and interdisciplinary training into the University of New Mexico. All Africana Studies majors, minors, undergraduate and graduate students, and their spouses from UNM are eligible to become members by signing the attendance roster at an organization meeting. There is a onetime $10 fee for Lifetime membership. Meeting will be held at 12:30 pm on Fridays in Mesa Vista Hall 4th Floor Africana Studies Program.
